Charlevoix Golf Club
A city-run nine-hole course on Charlevoix's north side, founded in 1896 and one of the older golf clubs in Michigan.
The Charlevoix Golf Club was founded in 1896 by summer residents from Chicago and laid out by Willie Watson, with Herbert James Tweedie credited by the city as co-designer. In 1937 the club handed the course to the City of Charlevoix for one dollar, and the city has run it as a public nine-hole course since.
It sits on Fairway Drive on the north side of town, close to public beaches on Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Visit Charlevoix describes gentle terrain that suits beginners, families and quick rounds, and notes that golf carts are not available.
