On Michigan Avenue, just north of the drawbridge in Charlevoix
The Bridge Street Inn sits on Michigan Avenue a few hundred yards north of Charlevoix’s drawbridge, within walking distance of downtown, the beaches and the Beaver Island ferry. The three-story Colonial Revival house opened around 1895 as Baker Cottage, one of several overflow cottages for the Beach Hotel, which was owned by Martha Baker. The inn calls itself Charlevoix’s oldest bed and breakfast.
Rooms have hardwood floors, antique furniture and vintage decor, and the state travel listing describes six rooms and a suite, each with a private bath. Breakfast is a plated hot meal, and the inn hosts an evening wine and cheese hour on its wraparound porch, which looks toward Lake Michigan.
Lake Michigan’s sandy beaches are a short walk away, and Lake Charlevoix is close by for boating.
