Bay Harbor Golf Club sits on the Lake Michigan shore of Little Traverse Bay, west of Petoskey, inside the Bay Harbor resort community. Its 27 holes are three nines that pair up into three 18-hole rounds. The Links runs along the shoreline, the Quarry works through a former shale quarry, and the Preserve winds through woods before opening to lake views on its closing stretch.
The club describes itself as semi-private: members get extra benefits, but visiting golfers can book tee times. Golf Digest credits the design to Arthur Hills and ranks the Links/Quarry pairing. The Inn at Bay Harbor, a short way down the road, is the resort’s hotel.
