On Lewis Street in downtown Petoskey, overlooking Little Traverse Bay
Hotel Perry has stood at 100 Lewis Street since 1899, not long after Petoskey was incorporated as a city. It is part of the Petoskey Downtown Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Petoskey Area Visitors Bureau notes that of the 21 hotels operating in Petoskey in 1900, it is the only one still open.
The hotel was first aimed at businessmen traveling for work. Later owners, the brothers Drs. John and George Reycraft, came close to turning it into a hospital before the city stepped in to keep it a hotel. Today it is the only hotel in downtown Petoskey and is part of the Cotton Collection of northern Michigan properties.
The hotel offers rooms and suites, some with views of Little Traverse Bay. The H.O. Rose Dining Room serves breakfast with views of the bay, and the Noggin Room Pub, downstairs, is a casual pub with live music in summer. Downtown Petoskey’s shops and restaurants are steps away.
