A June afternoon of Leelanau Peninsula wine, local food and live music at Leland Harbor, often called the unofficial start of summer in Leland.
The Leland Wine & Food Festival is the town’s early-summer gathering: wine from the peninsula’s wineries, food from local producers and a band by the water at Leland Harbor. About 1,500 people come, and for many it doubles as a first catch-up of the season.
The festival has moved around: it was held at the Leland Lodge in 2022 and 2023 while the harbor was rebuilt, and it was canceled in 2024 when no site could be found. It has been back at the harbor since. Because of that history, confirm the year’s date and location with the Leland Chamber of Commerce before you plan around it.
In 2026 the festival ran one Saturday afternoon at Leland Harbor in Fishtown, with a dozen Leelanau Peninsula wineries pouring, craft beer, local food vendors and live music. It is ticketed, with come-and-go wristbands. It is the Leland Chamber of Commerce fundraiser that helps pay for the town fireworks and holiday lighting.
