A big resort at Boyne Falls with 65 trails on 415 skiable acres, 35 km of cross-country trails, and SkyBridge Michigan and bike trails in the warm months.
Boyne Mountain is a full-size ski resort at Boyne Falls, south of Boyne City, and a good pick when you want lots of terrain and a resort base to come back to. It sits just southeast of the village off US-131, you buy lift tickets from the resort, and you can sleep slopeside. The resort lists 65 trails across 415 skiable acres, 10 chairlifts and 500 feet of vertical.
It is not just a downhill place. The resort lists 35 kilometers of cross-country trails and 5 kilometers of snowshoe trails, so a mixed group can split up for the morning and meet for lunch.
Outside ski season, ride the chairlift to SkyBridge Michigan, a 1,200-foot pedestrian bridge strung between two peaks, which the resort bills as the world’s longest timber-towered suspension bridge. There are ziplines too, and the resort publishes a bike trail map. Avalanche Bay Waterpark is on site too.
Season dates, lift schedules and SkyBridge days change with the weather. Check the resort before you go.
