The Thoroughbred Golf Club is the main course at Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, a ranch-style resort that also offers horseback riding, waterparks and dining. Arthur Hills designed the 18 holes, which opened in 1993 and were fitted to rolling woods, wetlands and lakes. The par-four second hole bends around a cranberry bog, and the resort notes that riders on horseback have the right of way on the cart paths.
The course plays from four sets of tees, and the clubhouse has an outdoor bar. Resort lodging includes the Thoroughbred Suites, which overlook the course. Double JJ also owns Grand View Golf Course in nearby New Era.
