Benona Shores Golf Course

Benona Shores Golf Course is an executive course on Scenic Drive, close to the Lake Michigan shore west of Shelby. The land was a fruit farm from the 1920s, and the family that owned it turned it into a golf course designed by Warren Bowen: the front nine opened in 1974 and the back nine in 1976. Apple and pear trees are still harvested on the property.
The 18 holes are all par 3s and par 4s, totaling about 4,300 yards and par 60, with smooth, quick greens. It is short and walkable enough for beginners, and rounds usually take under three hours.
