Oceana Golf Club, on West Weaver Road outside Shelby, calls itself the first 18-hole public course in Oceana County, and Pure Michigan dates it to 1962. The par-72 layout runs about 6,300 yards over rolling, tree-lined ground, and the greens are small and fast, which puts a premium on the short game.
There are four sets of tees, a driving range, a practice putting green and a pro shop with a PGA professional on staff.
