Manistee Golf and Country Club

One of Michigan's oldest golf clubs, founded in 1901 on the Lake Michigan shore in Manistee and open to the public as well as members.

Course website

Manistee Golf and Country Club was incorporated in 1901 by local lumbermen and businessmen, who built a nine-hole course that summer. Nine more holes were added in the late 1920s to make the 18 played today, and the club marked its 125th year in 2026. Many holes sit high above the Lake Michigan shoreline, with views of the beaches and the Manistee lighthouse.

Once a private club, it now offers memberships and also welcomes public play. It is not a long or especially punishing course, but the lake views are a large part of its appeal. A pub on site serves golfers and visitors after a round.
