On Henry Street in downtown Mackinaw City
The Deer Head Inn occupies a house built in 1913 on Henry Street, a block from the Mackinaw Crossings shops and a few minutes on foot from the Mackinac Island ferry docks. Mackinaw City’s tourism bureau describes it as an elegantly restored Arts and Crafts home, and the state travel listing counts it among the oldest homes in town.
Inside, the decor leans into the north woods theme its name suggests, with mounted deer heads, wood and leather, Mission-style furniture and fireplaces. The state listing describes five guest rooms, each with a private bath and a fireplace. The hosts, Barry and Nancy Dean, serve breakfast to guests.
From the inn, Colonial Michilimackinac, the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse and the foot of the Mackinac Bridge are all close by.
