Hidden River sits on Maple River Road in Brutus, north of Petoskey and east of Harbor Springs. The 18 holes follow the Maple River through pines and hardwoods. Designer W. Bruce Matthews III kept a lay-of-the-land approach, with push-up greens and fairways that tilt and roll with the ground.
The club is open to the public and also sells memberships. Trovato, an Italian restaurant, operates at the clubhouse.
