Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park

A year-round adventure park inside Muskegon State Park with a luge track, lighted cross-country ski trails and skating in winter, and a zip line in summer.

The Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park is the winter play place on the southern shore, set in the dunes of Muskegon State Park on Lake Michigan. If you have never tried luge, this is the place: the park has an Olympian-designed track, along with an ice-skating trail and a sledding hill.

Cross-country skiers come for the lights. More than 15 km of marked trails are groomed for classic and skate, and three loops, from 2.5K to 5K, are lit after sunset, so you can ski after work or after dark on a short winter day. Rentals are sold in person at the lodge. Snowshoers and walkers have the lighted Hike the Lights trails, and leashed dogs are welcome there.

In summer the park switches to a 1,300-foot dual zip line launched from a sand dune, a wheel luge track, archery and a climbing wall, with more than 5 miles of marked trails.

Tickets are required for most activities, and you also need a Recreation Passport on your car to drive into the state park (see licenses and passes). The address is 462 Scenic Drive in North Muskegon. Check the park’s site for what is running before you go.
