Chippewa Hotel Waterfront

On Main Street beside the Mackinac Island marina

The Chippewa Hotel sits on Main Street in downtown Mackinac Island, next to the island marina and diagonally across from Fort Mackinac. Mackinac State Historic Parks dates it to 1902, and a photograph in the parks’ archive from about 1905 shows it in a view looking down Main Street from Fort Street.

The hotel’s best-known room is the Pink Pony, its bar and restaurant, which has a main bar, a patio bar and a lobby bar. Rooms are grouped by outlook, facing Main Street, the lake or the harbor, and some harbor-side rooms have private balconies. A large jetted hot tub sits on the sun deck.

The Arnold ferry terminal is next door, and the Shepler’s terminal and the carriage tour ticket office are a short walk along Main Street.
