Caberfae Peaks is Cadillac’s ski resort, a fair choice when you want a classic Michigan ski weekend inland from the lakeshore. It is off M-55 west of town, with lessons for kids and a lodge at the base of the slopes. The snow report lists 27 runs and 5 lifts spread across three peaks, East, North and South.

Cross-country skiers should know about the trails here. About 10 miles of loops run through hardwood forest from the base area, volunteers groom them as needed, and the resort lists no fee to use them. Check before you go, since grooming depends on snow and volunteers.

In summer the resort has a golf course.
