Caberfae Peaks Ski and Golf Resort

West of Cadillac in Wexford County

Caberfae Peaks lies west of Cadillac in Wexford County. The Cadillac Area Visitors Bureau calls it the oldest ski resort in Michigan, and the 2026 to 2027 winter marks its 89th season.

Downhill skiing spreads across the East, North and South Peaks, with night skiing, snowmaking, lessons, Nordic skiing and racing. The visitors bureau notes that the hill has one of the larger vertical drops in northern Michigan and that the resort recently added a backcountry area and a new triple chairlift.

In summer the resort turns to golf on a nine-hole course designed by Harry Bowers that runs along the base of the ski runs. The Mackenzie Lodge, at the foot of the slopes next to the course, offers ski-in, ski-out rooms and stay-and-play golf packages, and the resort also hosts weddings.
