Muskegon Country Club is a private club on Lakeshore Drive, founded in 1908 on 130 acres of dune land that it still occupies. Tom Bendelow laid out the first course, and Donald Ross redesigned and renumbered it in 1920. The course is fairly short at about 6,700 yards from the back tees, with rolling ground, fescue along the fairways and demanding greens.
Play is for members and their invited guests, so visitors cannot book a tee time. The club belongs to the RedWater group of Michigan clubs, and its course has hosted U.S. Open regional qualifying and Michigan Amateur championships.
